My current body of work consists of figures absorbed in futile tasks. They exist in transcendental, liminal states that hold the possibility of redemption. The figures examine the limits of their surroundings, searching for the moment when the natural world meets the metaphysical. They seek without material gain, discovering instead a quiet introspection that can only be found in the midst of nothing.

A section of the gallery was enclosed by curtains creating a small room. Inside the room is a row of carpet with a lamp on a table beside it. Sewn onto the lampshade is a slide of a woman swimming under water.
